Abstract
Using text and figures, this chapter explains nine configurations of bat–ball collisions. The first three involve collisions at the center of mass of the bat. The next four are head-on collisions at the impact point of the bat. The first three of these model the motion of the bat as a translation and a rotation. The fourth analyzes the effect of friction. The last two configurations consider oblique rather than head-on collisions.
