Abstract
The AO Foundation’s Technische Kommission (TK), or Technical Commission, was one of the organization’s outstanding features that went back to the early days. The AO founders created the TK as the body they thought necessary to connect surgical practice and its instruction with the development of the AO Instrumentarium. Although the roles and the size of the TK evolved, it remained a central element to the AO Foundation and how its surgeon members collaborated.
