Abstract
There are a lot of debates about the new technologies, about advantages and disadvantages brought by these information and communication technologies. There are pros and cons, but what is more important is how the economy will be shaped by the adoption of this technology and how the institutions are going to take advantage of them. A very important role, threatened by crypto currency, is still played by the Central Banks. If they can take this into consideration, then the measure they will acquire, thru the monetary policy, will affected the economy in which the ICT (Information and Communication Technology) is more and more present. The aim of the paper is also to present some theories of great economists, related to this subject, that give us some ideas about the past so we can imagine more clearly the future shape of the economy.
