Abstract
The Solar System is teeming with countless bits of cosmic debris, large and small. Some are left over from the formation of the Solar System – asteroids and comets – 4.6 billion years ago, while others were created in subsequent collisions between these bodies and huge impacts on planets and moons. In this chapter we’ll explore asteroids and comets and how they are responsible for streaks of light, possibly even sounds, in the sky and rocks from space.
