Abstract
The preparation of a doctoral student and a successful thesis is considered an achievement – not only for the doctoral student and their scientific supervisor, but also for the institution that has taken responsibility in developing a young scientist. Doctoral student education is a complex activity, which includes administrative services, discursive social practice, document turnover, etc. The creation of a software system aimed at tracking the development of the doctoral students themselves and their scientific interests is one of a series of initiatives that the University of Ruse has taken to optimize the organization activity related to Ph.D. student education. The base theoretical concepts forming the foundation in the build process of a software system are outlined in this article, as well as their successful practical implementation into a well-functioning software resource. An analysis of the results of a poll intending to survey the opinions of the users in their work and experience with the system is also included.
