Abstract

The article considers consumer baskets of Russia, Germany, France, the USA, and the USSR. On the basis of the comparative analysis of the principles for the formation of the consumer basket of the studied countries, proposals are made to change the methodology for calculating the consumer basket of Russia, its quantitative and qualitative change and the application of consumer basket monitoring as the main principle of timely subsidized provision of the population.
