Evaluation in PACS: Physical Tests and Clinical Test Data Sets

  • Conference paper
ISCAMI 1

Abstract

There are two special problems in achieving a working PACS system, firstly capturing the data, and secondly displaying the resulting images. Unless these problems can be successfully resolved, all the rest of any PACS network is without practical clinical value, which is not to say that the problems associated with the management of such networks, the communications between the PACS components and the PAS, etc are without difficulties themselves. It was these input and Output stages that we decided to address. Since data capture from CT scanners, MRI devices, and other digital systems is essentially an electronic and Software problem, it was also decided to confine the area of study to conventional (film) radiography.
