Abstract
Pulmonary cryosurgery has been developed over the past twenty years by Liu Ping in China. He has designed a special L-C type lung frozen-fixation instrument which he first tested on animals in 1978. Since then it has been tested on 80 patients with various lung lesions with satisfactory results. The range of tumours treated include peripheral lung lesions measuring up to 6 cm in diameter; unilateral or bilateral, singular or even multiple metastatic lesions of the lung, and certain benign tumours such as tuberculomas or pulmonary cystic parasitic lesions.
