Résumé
L’intestin grêle est vascularisé par l’artère mésentérique supérieure qui s’anastomose largement avec le tronc cœliaque et l’artère mésentérique inférieure. Des anastomoses sont constituées, dans la paroi intestinale, par les arcades artériolaires unissant les vaisseaux droits. Malgré cette vascularisation très riche, les accidents ischémiques mésentériques sont fréquents. Cette fréquence s’explique d’une part par la réduction préférentielle du débit splanchnique au profit de la vascularisation cérébrale et cardiaque en cas de besoin, et d’autre part, par la vascularisation fragile des villosités. Comme tout organe, l’intestin grêle présente une souffrance en cas d’obstruction artérielle.
