Résumé

Bien que décrites depuis léAntiquité égyptienne, les suppurations anales demeurent souvent un réel problème tant pour le patient, qui subit leur inconfort, que pour son chirurgien qui peut être confronté à de réelles difficultés thérapeutiques. Pour mieux les comprendre et les traiter, il est nécessaire de les classer suivant leur origine. Il existe trois groupes de lésions : les suppurations provenant du canal anal (75,5 %), celles dont l’origine est située au-dessus du canal anal (1,8 %) et les suppurations indépendantes de l’ano-rectum (22,7 %).
