Résumé
Depuis quelques années, plusieurs publications ont mis en exergue l’avantage de l’examen du sperme au fort grossissement (× 6 600), permettant l’évaluation de la morphologie du noyau spermatique et la densité de sa chromatine en temps réel avant micro-injection ovocytaire. Ce procédé est communément appelé motile sperm organelle morphology examination (MSOME). La technique d’ICSI est appelée intracytoplasmic morphologically selected sperm injection (IMSI). En reproduction, nous déplorons hélas plus d’échecs que de succès. Les causes des échecs sont multiples, d’origine maternelle mais aussi paternelle. En effet, un sperme inadéquat peut conduire au pire à un défaut de fécondation ou de développement embryonnaire précoce et au mieux à une implantation embryonnaire suivie d’une fausse couche.
