Il s’agit en pratique souvent de polytraumatisés (plusieurs lésions dont une au moins met en jeu à court terme le pronostic vital), justifiant une prise en charge par des équipes multidisciplinaires incluant des radiologues disponibles (permanence des soins) et expérimentés, qui contribuent au diagnostic des lésions et éventuellement à leur traitement; la place des techniques endovasculaires pour faire face aux hémorragies liées à ces traumatismes est devenue essentielle.
