Résumé

Apparues au début des années 1990, et liées au développement d’appareils linéaires permettant la visualisation de l’extrémité de l’aiguille, les biopsies écho-endoscopiquement guidées ont amené un nouveau champ d’investigation permettant de livrer au clinicien des preuves histologiques essentielles dans la prise en charge des patients, et ont ouvert la voie aux techniques, dites interventionnelles, de ponction, de drainage ou de dérivation.
