Résumé
La téléchirurgie a-t-elle un avenir en chirurgie de la main ? La question pourrait se poser face au nombre croissant des traumatismes complexes de la main et la carence de médecins qualifiés. En effet, on dénombre environ 1,4 million d’accidents de la main par an en France avec 620 000 traumatismes complexes de la main. Si la majorité des traumatismes fait appel à une prise en charge standard de traumatologie courante, la complexité de certains traumatismes nécessite une prise en charge diagnostique et thérapeutique par un chirurgien spécialisé en chirurgie de la main. La télémédecine apporte déjà une aide diagnostique dans les centres non spécialisés en chirurgie de la main (1). La téléchirurgie paraît utopique par son côté onéreux, peu répandu et technique, mais elle peut constituer un moyen intéressant pour la prise en charge thérapeutique à distance dans certains centres non qualifiés et dans certaines chirurgies complexes.
