Selon la classification de la Fédération internationale des Sociétés de chirurgie de la main, le doigt en maillet tendineux correspond à une rupture en zone I (pour les doigts longs) ou zone TI (pour le pouce) de la bandelette terminale de l’appareil extenseur extrinsèque.
