Abstract

Surgical exposure and control of the vertebral artery (VA) may lead to different complications, which may be divided in the following two main groups:

  1. 1.

    Complications in the work around the VA involving the VA itself

  2. 2.

    Complications in the surgical approach, which may involve different structures such as nerves and lymphatic vessels
