Abstrait

Les mucinoses cutanées constituent un groupe hétérogène d’affections caractérisées par une accumulation de mucine dans le derme ou dans les follicules pileux?. La mucine est une substance amorphe de consistance gélatineuse, produite par les fibroblastes, et constitue une des composantes de la substance fondamentale. Elle forme un complexe carbohydrate, composée d’unmélange de polysaccharides en chaîne et de glycosaminoglycanes acides. Ces derniers peuvent se fixer de part et d’autre d’un noyau central protéique (protéoglycane monomère) comme dans le cas du dermatan sulfate et du chondroïtine sulfate, ou être libres comme dans le cas de l’acide hyaluronique. Ce dernier constitue la principale composante de la mucine dermique. La mucine est capable d’absorber 1 000 fois son poids en eau, jouant ainsi un rôle déterminant dans le maintien de l’équilibre sel/eau dans le derme.
