Abstract
Air in motion both lifts and propels an aircraft upward and forward, and current atmospheric conditions are all-important in determining whether an aerial vehicle will have an easy takeoff, a smooth flight, and a safe landing. Not until man essayed to travel through the air did the science of meteorology achieve the dominant position in travel planning that it holds today.
