Abstract

Referencing previously published literature pays homage to those whose shoulders we have stood upon (or, for papers we may have a scientific disagreement with, those shoulders we wish to walk upon). This chapter discusses the mechanisms of citing and referencing, how to determine which literature to cite, how best to cite the literature, and tips for citing and referencing.
