Abstract
Once the diagnosis of migraine is established, a balanced, flexible and individually tailored treatment plan can be put in to place. It is important to educate the patient and their family about the diagnosis of migraine and to provide reassurance about the absence of other, life-threatening disorders. Invariably, families have a fear of an underlying malignancy and it is absolutely essential to provide reassurance. Once this point is established, the family will get “on board” with the treatment regimen.
