Primer on Prostate Cancer

Abstract

Management for patients with prostate cancer is quickly evolving. At one end of the spectrum, there is a growing realization that early disease does not always need treating and that monitoring may be a reasonable option for many patients diagnosed with early prostate cancer. For those who require treatment, the range of options continues to grow, with lessinvasive surgical, quasi-surgical techniques, and improved radiotherapy technologies becoming available.
