Abstract
Genetic endowment, the hormonal environment, age, lifestyle (physical exercise, smoking, dietary habits, alcohol consumption, substance abuse, etc.), and coexistent disease (and its treatment), all have their particular effect on each separate individual. There are as many possible variations of disease as there are patients. The list of virtual possibilities is infinite, but some common characteristics emerge in different demographic groups. In the present chapter, we will discuss some of these groups.
