Abstract
Paget’s disease is a disorder of bone characterized by increased bone turnover with excessive osteoclastic resorption and disorganized new bone formation, predominantly affecting the older population. Bone pain is often the major symptom although the condition is frequently asymptomatic, coming to light as the explanation for an elevated blood level of alkaline phosphatase. There is a predilection for the skull and vertebral column, resulting in a variety of neurological complications secondary to the bony pathology.
