Abstract

Transport biofuel production involves a number of non-energy resources, such as soil, nutrients and water, which also serve increasing food production. Reduced tillage, improved water efficiency and effective recycling of nutrients emerge as key issues for the sustainable use of these resources. Sustainable biomass yield will on average be about 3 Mg ha-1.
