Chapter
  • Hypospadias:
    • A congenital abnormality characterized by a triad of features which include an abnormally proximal urethral meatus positioned on the ventral aspect of the penis, a hooded prepuce and chordee. Associated conditions include inguinal hernia, undescended testes, paraurethral sinuses, urethral valves and a flattened glans penis, and other genito-urinary tract abnormalities

  • Chordee:
    • Ventral curvature of the penis due to the presence of a fibrous band between the meatus and glans

  • Horton test:
    • An artificial erection test used to assess the degree of chordee. It involves the injection of normal saline into one of the corpora cavernosa of the penis after application of a tourniquet around the base of the penis
