Research and Realization of Standard Part Library for 3D Parametric and Autonomic Modeling

  • Conference paper

Abstract

The revision and expansion of standard parts always bring library users a lot of trouble due to their implementation mostly through programming effort, which is difficult for users to achieve independently. A novel dynamic autonomic modeling method for 3D standard part library is presented and an interactive modeling wizard is constructed in this work. A detailed account of its realization steps is given. Then, compared with the traditional methods, the idea and characteristics of autonomic modeling method are analysed. Furthermore, based on SolidWorks 2005, the key algorithms and database design are realized in order to correlate the driven parameters to 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) models automatically. The application example illustrates that the dynamic autonomic modeling method allows users to modify the library conveniently and effectively and frees users from the heavy programming works.
