38-year-old female with low ejection fraction

She is three months post-partum.

The short-axis views seen in the top row demonstrate that the left ventricular cavity size is markedly enlarged, with normal wall thickness evident. Diffuse, severe global hypokinesia is evident, with marked reduction of left ventricular ejection fraction. The LVEF measured approximately 18%.

Perfusion images with adenosine stress and also the resting images show no focal perfusion defect. The perfusion images (and the cine images) show a vertically oriented artifact that is due to the parallel imaging technique used.
