Abstract

Clinical trials are needed for the development and evaluation of any type of treatment used to detect, prevent, or treat genitourinary cancer. This chapter introduces clinical trials in this context. The discussion largely focuses on the design and implementation of a clinical trial in its various stages. Possible sources of bias in clinical trials and methods of minimizing or eliminating this bias are also discussed.
