Abstract
Significant intersex anomalies occur in up to 1 in 5,000 live born infants. These anomalies are caused by the following factors:1

Anomalies predictable by endocrine principles and these include defects in

genetic sexual determination

gonadal differentiation

c.
hormonal production and action.

Anomalies not predictable by endocrine principles

morphological disorders of the perineum.
