Abstract

An increasing number of children have various forms of amplified musculoskeletal pain. These children are more disabled than children with arthritis and they and their families suffer intensely. In addition to their pain, frequently they are isolated from peers and are commonly told by medical professionals that they are faking it or that it does not hurt all that much. These children are very challenging but quite rewarding.
