Abstract
The future prospects of therapies for neurological disorders can be assessed by dividing the therapies into the following three categories: Prevention of disease based on the knowledge of genetics and identification of neurodegenerative diseases in the presymptomatic stage. Treatment of the disease in the acute phase by symptomatic relief, correction of the basic pathology and neuroprotection. Rehabilitation by physical therapies, neural prostheses and neuroregenerative therapies.
