Anterior Pituitary Hormones

Abstract

The human anterior pituitary gland contains at least five distinct hormone-producing cell populations, expressing six different hormones: proopiomelanocortin (POMC), growth hormone (GH), prolactin (PRL), thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH).
