Abstract
It is imperative that an individual accepts migraine as a necessary and sufficient explanation for their conditions. A failure to accept migraine will preclude commitment to any treatment plan. This failure also leads to feelings of insecurity, guilt, and fear of an impending attack. Acceptance of migraine facilitates patient empowerment by allowing focus on the task at hand, reducing attack vulnerability and attack related disability. Acceptance also allows an individual to appreciate the positive aspects of their lives, which facilitates energy, mood, and well-being.
