Abstract
U.S. students not measuring up in math . (http://www.upi.com/Science_News/2010/11/10/US-students-not-measuring-up-in-math/30091289429896/) American kids lag in math. (http://abcnews.go.com/US/story?id=94793) These headlines are accurate. Our students are performing below expectations and behind their international peers. The reasons for our less than desired results are many and deeply embedded in our processes and societal norms. However, with advances in neuroscience and learning technology, we can make significant improvements and begin the process of changing the way we teach and learn math.
