Abstract

You have just completed a clinical study in volunteers. The study attempted to evaluate the respiratory depression of two drugs by using the CO2 response curve. One group received morphine and the other group diazepam, given in two different doses intravenously. You are surprised to see that the study shows no difference between the two groups of volunteers.

Your senior coworker suggests that this inconclusive (negative) result will be of no interest to any journal and you are wasting your time submitting it.

What will you do and what can you do to improve your chances of getting it published?
