Abstract

The morphology of germ cell tumors changes after chemotherapy. Many are exquisitely chemo- and radiosensitive, and become entirely necrotic. Others show residual mature teratoma. A small minority show residual malignant disease and include unusual patterns, less frequently seen prior to orchidectomy. Late somatic transformation of testicular tumors may occur, leading to a variety of patterns with variable prognoses.
