Pre and Post Harvest Diseases of Potato and Their Management

  • Chapter

Part of the book series: Fungal Biology ((FUNGBIO))

Abstract

Potato can be affected by many diseases which affect at both pre and post harvest stage of the crop. Major fungal diseases which affect the crop are late blight, early blight, black scurf, fusarium dry rot, wart, powdery scab and charcoal rot. Such diseases are prevalent in many countries and can cause a significant reduction in potato production. A brief description of these diseases and their management is given in this chapter.
