Abstract
It is now clear that the adipose is an important endocrine organ. Considering the vast evidence demonstrating a link between obesity and breast cancer, it is not surprising that attention has turned to the role of factors produced by the adipose, termed adipokines, as major drivers of breast cancer growth via direct effects on cell proliferation and indirect effects on estrogen biosynthesis.
