  • Patricia Gilbert

Abstract

As the alternative name to this syndrome implies, the Lennox—Gastaut syndrome is a severe form of childhood epilepsy. The actual incidence of the condition is not known, but it is thought that around 10% of children with epilepsy have this syndrome. Again, it is thought that up to 50% of children who have epileptic seizures which are difficult to treat have this syndrome.
