Buying abroad

Abstract

Increasingly, buyers source and operate in world markets. Purchasers buy from abroad: these are imports into the purchaser’s country and exports from the supplier’s country. They also buy for abroad, for delivery to some other country and thus for import into that country and for export from the country of origin. Multinational organizations, for instance, often buy for delivery to overseas locations. In major inter­national projects such as turnkey contracts for the Middle East or China, contracts are made in many countries for completion in the country of destination.
