Abstract
Surgery for sexual impotency involves correction of aortoiliac disease, penile and pudendal arterial bypass and venous interruptions for cavernosal leak syndrome. Large vessel reconstructions, i.e. aortoiliac or aortofemoral bypass, aortoiliac endarterectomy and femorofemoral bypass, aneurysm or limb ischaemia are modified specifically to prevent postoperative impotence. Internal iliac endarterectomy or bypass are employed for vasculogenic impotence Small vessel microvascular reconstructions for impotence now comprise two procedures: bypasses into the dorsal artery or deep dorsal vein arterialization.
