Abstract
Synthroid, available as tablets and injections, contains a synthetic levothyroxine, the principal hormone secreted by the normal thyroid gland. Taken orally, Synthroid provides hormone that is readily absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. The injection is effective by any parenteral route.
