Abstract

Several sequelae occur as a consequence of gastric resection, whether it is a total or a subtotal gastrectomy. In contrast to the biochemical functions of the stomach such as the production of intrinsic factor or gastric acid, it is possible to restore mechanical tasks such as the reservoir capacity to improve problems due to malnutrition and to prevent reflux of duodenal contents into the oesophagus.
