Abstract
The data given in this part show a bias towards ferrous metallurgy. Apart from their specific practical application they also demonstrate:
-
(a)
Crystal systems embraced by commonly occurring elements and compounds.
-
(b)
The large number of d-spacings possible from a given unit cell, particularly illustrating the need for diffraction patterns with small spot separation (equivalent to large d-spacing) for unambiguous interpretation.
