Observation of Cyclotron Resonance in Magnesium

Abstract

We have observed Azbel-Kaner cyclotron resonances at 24 Gcps and 2°K in a single crystal of magnesium† with a residualresistance ratio of 8500. The normal to the specimen surface was within 1° of [1010]. The resonant cavity and sample mounting technique were the same as those used for the study of cadmium.1
