Abstract
One of the fundamental characteristics of an ultrasonic receiver is its sensitivity. We will be concerned below primaril with the so-called field sensitivity, which is defined as the ratio of the emf developed by the ultrasonic receiver at a certain point of the ultrasonic field to the ultrasonic pressure that would exist at the same point of the field in the absence of the receiver.
