Abstract

Thankfully, this book is not an “after-the-fact” book. Yes, I explained the historical background behind impacts, and I have cited instances of close and closest encounters in our own time. But most of all, this book is a “before-the-fact” book: a warning that we should be aware of the potential dangers of asteroid collisions and an encouragement as to how the asteroids may one day be the new frontier we flock to on our way to colonize our solar system.
