What is Photovoltaics?

  • Chapter

Abstract

Photovoltaics (PV) encompasses the entire technology of the use of solar cells. Solar cells—or PV cells—absorb sunlight and change it directly and continuously into electricity. They do this without pollution, noiselessly and without any moving parts (although some PV systems have sun trackers with moving parts).
