Abstract
The night has a thousand eyes and more; they mark the sky in an almost changeless manner, moving only in concert with the sky itself, appearing to spin around us every day. Since the dawn of recorded history, the same stars in nearly the same array have shone down on all people, giving all of our civilizations a common heritage.
The night has a thousand eyes, And the day but one; Yet the light of the bright world dies with the dying sun. The mind has a thousand eyes, And the heart but one; Yet the light of a whole life dies when love is done.
