Abstract

The term “ethics” is used often but is much less frequently defined. According to The American Heritage Dictionary, ethics is “the study of the general nature of morals and of the specific moral choices to be made by the individual in his relationship with others; the philosophy of morals ... the moral sciences as a whole including moral philosophy and customary civil and religious law” The term “moral” is defined as “of or concerned with the judgment of the goodness or badness of human action . . . pertaining to the discernment of good and evil.”
